EDUCATION1.) Liberal Arts Degree: AA in Kinesiology and Well (Secondary)
- I majored in Kinesiology over the Spring of 2023 with the intention of continuing my education to further my knowledge on the world of kinesiology and the study of holistic living; I decided to take courses that would advance my knowledge in regards to living a happier and healthier lifestyle. Courses taken:
2.) Coaching Certification - I did not know where the path of Kinesiology would lead me or how deciding to join the swim team in my late 20's would open so many opportunities for me in regards to my later decision of pursuing a coaching certification and researching career paths in coaching. Being back in the water made me realize how much I belong there and how I am so comfortable in that environment, I decided to research opportunities that Mt.SAC offered students that wanted to still be involved in sports and the certification program was one of the first results-after researching and learning about the programs requirements, I had realized that I am about 60% done with the necessary requirements thanks to my Kinesiology degree; after this semester ends I plan to have completed and passed all necessary requirements for the coaching certification program. - Expected to accomplish by the end of Fall 2023. Courses Taken: (last 2 needed to fully complete certification requirements)
3.) BS in Radiologic Technology (Primary) - The study of Radiologic Science is my primary career choice and major for my life, I have always known I wanted to work in health care but realized later on that I am not one to do extensive patient care and that is when I researched different career opportunities and stumbled on the Rad Tech program Mt. SAC offers students, however because this program is so impacted every student must be on a wait-list prior to beginning the program and this time also allows students to complete the required prerequisite courses needed to even begin the the 2 year license program-this opportunity is one of very few that also allows students the opportunity of a bachelors program through an extended campus. Courses taken: (Required Prerequisites)
