- 168_hour_assignment__compatible_version__janel.doc Goal Setting - goal_setting_assignment_kine_81_janel.docx Developing Drills for Your Sport - developing_drills_assignment_kine_81_janel.docx In Season and out of Season Training - in_season___off_season_assignment_kine_81_janel.docx Why Become a Coach - why_become_a_coach_assignment_kine_81_janel.docx Reflection: - I really enjoyed doing these assignments for this class because they were extremely beneficial and put a lot into perspective for my individual life such as the 168 hour assignment; we don't always take time to realize how each second really does account for something and either it is being used efficiently or it is being wasted so this assignment really made that clear for me. - I also took so much from the Goal setting, Developing Drills, and the On & Off season training assignments because they allowed me to dive into what the responsibilities and reality of becoming a coach consist of; and how to breakdown the best ways to help myself, staff, and my athletes through creating drills and training sets that will benefit my athletes in becoming stronger and faster by taking many factors such as age, ability, skill level, technical work, and endurance into account when creating sets. - All in all my favorite assignment has to be the reason of why individuals become coaches and the short answer is because you love a sport so much you still want to be immersed in that environment but now for me it means so much more-I get to help others learn and share in the sport I love so much, teaching them better ways and techniques that have helped me and seeing them grow and develop over time makes me very happy and proud and to know I may have had a small part in their success makes me all that more proud! - If there is anything I can recognize now that I have accomplished through conducting these assignments, it has to be that I have a better and clearer understanding of what it means to be a coach and what that means for my athletes, I am grateful for the experiences I have had with my swimmers and I hope that they recognize the potential I see in them and see it for themselves as well. |
